Mint All Original Solid 9ct Gold Longines Calibre 6942 from 1975
This is a remarkable mint condition unrestored example of the Longines 6942 from 1975
The only work we have carried out is to service the movement and give the case a light polish with a soft cloth.
The solid 9ct gold case is 33.5mm in diameter excluding the original crown.
The case edges are sharp and crisp, the serrations on the original winding crown are razor sharp. The watch looks like it was kept hidden away in a drawer and almost never worn
The heavy solid 9ct gold case is made by Baume who were Longines main manufacturer of solid 9ct gold cases.
The movement is a calibre 6942 which is very high quality, this was one of Longines highest grade movements of this period. It has been freshly serviced and is currently running at plus 5 seconds per day , not bad for a 50 year old watch. The London hallmark dates this watch to 1975.
The beautiful silver dial is totally original and perfect it has had no restoration whatsoever.
The hands are matching gold and all original.
As you would expect the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and case.
