Rare solid 14ct gold Omega Cioccolatone Art Deco Chronometer c1954

£3,950.00Price
  • This is a remarkable example of the rare Omega Model reference 3950 Art Deco bumper chronometer from 1954  known as the Omega "Cioccolatone"

Probably the most desireable of all Omega dress watches.

The solid 14ct gold case is 31mm by 41mm excluding the original crown,  a very large watch for this period.

Most of these watches were fitted with the standard calibre 342 bumper movement but a small number were fitted with the Omega calibre 344 which is listed as a chronometer grade movement in the Omega database which is rare, this was Omegas highest grade movement of this period.  It has been freshly serviced and is currently running at plus 3 seconds per day , not bad for a 70 year old watch.

The Art deco dial is perfect having been recently restored and a new glass has been fitted.

The 14ct gold case is very unusual with robust crab claw lugs and a curved glass that follows the contour of the case. Its clearly had very little use and still retains its original cellophane protector to the caseback.

It comes with an original early period Omega buckle and Omega box.

As you would expect the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and case with Swiss hallmarks for solid 14ct gold.

Like all of our watches it comes with a 12 month warranty and we can fit any colour or style of strap you prefer

A stunning and rare collectors piece.
