Outstanding International Watch Company solid 9ct gold gents wristwatch.

This is an exemplary example of a gents classic wristwatch made by the world renowned premier maker International Watch Company or IWC.

Known as the "Watchmakers watch" this is the legendary calibre 89 movement with jewels set in gold chatons, geneva striped plates with hand beveled edges and screw adjusted seconds friction. It is regarded as one of the finest movements ever made, as you can see it is in fabulous condition. 

The attention to detail is what makes these IWC watches stand out from other manufacturers. 

The minute markers are small polished gold plated circles that are individually machined into the surface of the dial, everyone else like Rolex and Omega just used printed minute markers.

The seconds hand is domed along its whole length meaning that from any angle the light reflects along its centre line,  these are very difficult to make, everyone else just used standard flat topped seconds hands

The starburst dial is totally mint original and unrestored which is quite remarkable, IWC dials are generally not great survivors and tended to deteriorate more that other brands so to find a 60 year old original IWC dial in this condition is very rare. 

The hands are original as is the winding crown, the serrations are crisp and sharp.  It has a solid 9ct gold IWC factory made case in mint condition.  

As you would expect the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and case.

It also comes with the very rare IWC original green box.

IWC are one of the most exclusive watchmakers in the world and this watch certainly has that understated elegance that whispers class indeed this is the best original example we have ever had, a rare find indeed.

The watch case measures 33mm in diameter not including the crown.

The watch has just been fully serviced and like all of our watches comes with a one year warranty.
