Very Rare Solid 14ct White Gold Longines Art Deco Gents Watch from 1955
This is a remarkable almost museum quality example of the very rare solid 14ct white gold Longines calibre 22L Art Deco from 1955
The only work we have carried out is to service the movement and give the case a light polish with a soft cloth.
The solid 14ct gold case is slightly oversize for the period measuring 25 wide and 40mm long excluding the original crown.
The case edges are sharp and crisp, the serrations on the original winding crown are sharp. The watch looks like it was kept hidden away in a drawer and rarely worn
The movement is a fine calibre 22L which is quite rare and very high quality, this was Longines highest grade movement of this period. It has been freshly serviced and is currently running at plus 10 seconds per day , not bad for a 70 year old watch. The serial number dates this watch to 1955.
It has a beautiful Art deco Curvex case with sharp side facets and domed glass that follows the curve of the case perfectly.
The beautiful textured dial is original and near perfect with stunning faceted hour markers that catch the light and very unusual sword hands that just shout Art Deco
Its the most original and perfect unrestored example you will ever see
As you would expect the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and case.
