Very Rare Solid 9ct Gold Omega Bumper Automatic c1952-53

£1,850.00Price
  • This is a very fine example of a gents classic wristwatch made by the world renowned premier Swiss maker Omega.

The watch is the calibre 354 automatic bumper movement and the serial number dates this accurately.

An Omega "bumper" is a vintage Omega that has a "bumper" automatic movement rather than a full rotation rotor automatic. The oscillating weight makes a partial rotation before "bumping" into a cushioning spring.

The striking thing about this watch is the stunning original dial and in our opinion the most beautiful dial ever made by Omega.   We have never seen another example, it's so finely detailed that it would be impossible to restore.  This is a rare watch indeed.

It measures 35mm in diameter excluding the winding crown which is quite large for this period..

A new glass has been fitted and the case has been professionally polished so it is in superb condition.

As you would expect the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and case.  It has the Omega logo on the winding crown and comes with an Omega buckle, you have a choice of strap so please let us know which you prefer.

Omega are one of the most exclusive watchmakers in the world and this watch certainly has that understated elegance that whispers class.

The watch has been fully serviced and is guaranteed to be a genuine Omega in all respects. It has been professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.
It is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers parts. Each part is then thoroughly cleaned in a three stage ultrasonic cleaning process.
The movement is then fully assembled using manufacturers approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. The cases are polished and sealed.
Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give you reliable and dependable service and will not require further service for many years.
